  1. Measurable characteristic of a subjective or access, such as plant height, flower color, petiole length, leaf shape etc. The descriptors are grouped in the form of descriptors list, one for each culture in particular, and are measured through the state of the descriptor, in other words, the categories recognized as valid for that descriptor (eg Flower color : 1. pink 2. yellowish 3. blue 4. purple; Petiole color: 1. Green 2. green-red 3. red-green 4. red). Descriptors are applied in the Characterization and evaluation of germplasm collections to make their agronomic properties known.[1]
  2. the morphological, physiological, biochemical or molecular characteristic that is genetically inherited and utilized to identify the cultivate/farming.[2]
