Relating or belonging to living organisms and organic components of the biosphere. In agricultural science, biotic agent is a term often associated with three main groups decreasing the yield of agronomic crops:

  1. plagues (insects, mites, etc..);
  2. diseases (bacteria, viruses, fungi);
