  1. The homogenous genetic materials obtained by an autogamic continued process.
  2. Lineage, strain or isolate is the microorganism which is willing to access in one or more collections. The lineage features in the system a screen for registering its details ("birth certificate") relating to the location of its collection, personnel involved in their collection and their taxonomic and general characteristics. The lineage has as primary identifier an integer/ whole number (code) that follows the prefix 'BRM'. Thus, there is a single register of strains with lineage BRM1 codes, BRM2, BRM3, etc.. After the registration of the lineage system, the one responsible for the collection must register the lineage as an access. For example, after registering the lineage BRM756, the official registers access MC25 "tied" to the number BRM756.[1]
