Ex situ conservation
Action to conserve the genetic variation of species outside their natural communities. Unfolds in various arrangements, including storage in vitro in field collections, in cold rooms, in liquid nitrogen etc. It is believed that the genetic material maintained under these conditions, far from their natural environment, are less subjected to the action of selective and therefore leads to a disadvantage in view of adjustment, are reintroduced in their natural habitat. This theory, widely accepted in recent literature still lacks convincing experimental confirmation.
