Endogamous depression

Loss of strength and aptitude in allogamous species, as a result of continuous self-fertilization. The self-fertilization leads to homozygous and it manifests itself in various forms. One of these forms is small sized plants, diminished fertility, albinism, defective plants and increased susceptibility to disease.[1]
