CPAA is an acronym for Embrapa Western Amazon Embrapa Amazônia Ocidental. The unit meets the demands of local and regional markets within the program of family farming, mainly cassava, growing crops and horticulture, conducting research in the domestic market with tropical fruits, palm oil, rubber, forest species, guarana and fish, and the international with the production of palm seeds. CPAA is the former name of the original acronym Embrapa Western Amazon: Center for Research in Agroforestry in Western Amazonia Centro de Pesquisa Agroflorestal da Amazônia Ocidental.
