Self-fertilization; In a panmictic population it is the fusion of the male gamete with the female gamete in the same individual. In the case of hermaphrodites or monoecious plants monoclinic (eg guava), the flower unites the two sexes and fertilization takes place between pollen and egg of the same flower. In the case of monoecious plants with unisexual flowers or diclinous (eg.: Cassava), a person has separated male and female flowers, calling geitonogamy this particular type of pollination autogamous.
