Heterosis or hybrid vigor. F1 Hybrid stands out favorably from its homozygous parentswhen compared to one or more desired agronomic characteristics. The hybrid is a heterozygous superior in aptitude, caused by superdominance, and often surpasses in size, performance and productivity.[1]
