In a broad sense, they are the various types of asexual reproduction in plants and animals. In the narrow sense it is the reproduction that occurs in the formation of asexual seeds in angiosperms, when it is synonymous with agamospermy. Apomixis is divided into gametophytic apomixis and embryonic adventitia. The gametophytic apomixis is subdivided into diplosporia and aposporia.[1]
