Species domesticated whose origin is unknown since there is no record of occurrence of its wild ancestor. The area of taxonomy and origin of cultivated crops have experienced tangible progress in the last two decades. Cultures that used to be considered cultígenas (eg maize, cassava, chayote, etc..) Had their wild ancestors recently discovered. See "indigen"; interaction between culture and weed.
